Position Overview
As a Campground Operations Team Member, you will help keep the campground running smoothly behind the scenes and outdoors. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the campground through site support, deliveries, and grounds care. Team members in this position enjoy physical, outdoor work and take pride in supporting both guests and fellow team members in a team-oriented environment.
What You May Be Helping With
- General campground maintenance and site clean-up
- Deliveries of firewood, food orders, and supplies
- Assisting guests with outdoor needs and campground support
- Groundskeeping duties such as grass cutting and garden maintenance
- Supporting event set-up and takedown
- Working collaboratively with the Guest Experience and Cabin teams
Qualifications
- Reliable, self-motivated, and team oriented
- Interest in hospitality, guest service, or campground operations
- Previous customer service or team-based work experience is an asset
- Friendly, positive attitude with strong communication skills
- Willingness to work collaboratively across multiple areas of the campground
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and peak periods
- Willingness to assist wherever needed
- Physically capable of active, hand-on work
- Fluent in English; additional languages (including French) are an asset
- Must be able to complete mandatory training in April prior to the season start
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods (4–8 hours or more)
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching
- Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and via radio/walkie system
Wages & Hours
- Starting wage: $17.60 per hour, or student minimum wage where applicable
- Seasonal employment from May 1 – October 18, additional hours available for full time employment.
Expected Outcomes & Standards
- Deliver friendly, helpful, and professional guest service at all times
- Demonstrate a positive attitude with guests, fellow team members, and management
- Present a well-groomed appearance and wear the appropriate KOA uniform and name tag
- Show attention to detail when assisting guests or supporting daily operations
- Handle cash and campground resources honestly and accurately
- Actively promote Barrie KOA and the KOA system through positive interactions
