Are you an Electrical Engineer that is energic, focused, and dedicated to research, product development, and engineering design. A seasoned PLC Programmer who has experience in electronic control panel design and would like to work at a startup company providing leading edge products and systems designed for the fuel cycle of commercial fusion companies.

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $75,000 annually.

Position Summary

We are seeking applicants with an engineering degree, preferably with 5 years of experience in product development. Prior experience in a “hands-on” environment is an asset. Technical aptitude, 3D modeling, low level programming, DC power wiring design/build, and vacuum system experience is an asset. If you have prior experience working with Swagelok tube benders and automated orbital welding units on small tubing vacuum systems would be a benefit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • SolidWorks 3D modeling
  • Control panel designing
  • AutoCAD 2D drawings
  • PLC or Data Acquisition programming
  • Design and operation of R+D projects
  • DC power and signal wiring design
  • Soldering of PCBs or cables
  • Assembly of test DC signal systems
  • Assembly of vacuum systems (scroll pumps, turbo pumps, RGA, etc.)
  • Vacuum system tubing using automated orbital welding
  • Tube bending for vacuum systems

Education & Experience

  • 3-5 years of North American engineering experience
  • Successful completion of Post-Secondary Education in Electrical Engineering or similar field with a 3 or 4-year diploma
  • Previous PLC programming and troubleshooting preferred.

  • Familiarity with how the different systems interface to the PLC
  • Familiarity with common industrial networking protocols
  • Knowledge of CSA Safety Standards
