Description

Location: Angus or Wasaga Beach
Job Type: Contract June 1 – August 21
Position Summary:
Provides support and information to youth and employers.  Develops relationships with small businesses and youth support agencies to ensure that youth have access to employment opportunities and support with life stabilization resources.  Provides small businesses with information and support to help with their hiring needs.
•     Create in-person/virtual hiring events with local employers.
•     Connect with small business owners to uncover employment opportunities available locally and to make them aware of the support available to them to meet their human resource needs
•     Inventory small businesses that are leaders in developing youth talent through their hiring and retention practices
•     Meet with youth support organizations, including schools, to develop an inventory of community youth supports, including employment and life stabilization
•     Determine the best way to house this inventory and make it available to youth and youth support groups and agencies
•     Develop a social campaign, including identifying the best platform to highlight the support for youth in the community and available student jobs
•     Attend community events and fairs to highlight the support available to youth in the community
•     Explore and develop up-to-date information on the career and employment issues facing youth
•     Collect and provide weekly reports on activities, including the number of youth engaged, small businesses engaged, and community support organizations engaged

Comfortable using social media and digital platforms for outreach
Strong problem-solving and initiative
