Who is the South Georgian Bay Ontario Health Team (SGB OHT)
The South Georgian Bay Ontario Health Team (SGBOHT) comprises partners from primary care, acute care, community, and social services. SGBOHT partners are proud of the solid relationships and history of collaboration in our region, and an up-to-date electronic medical records system (EMR) that is shared by all primary care and many specialist providers in our community.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an Administrator to join a multi-disciplinary health care team providing services in an NP-led clinic model. The clinic is located in the community of Wasaga Beach in a modern, purpose-built setting. You will be required to travel between the Wasaga Beach clinic and satellite services at 186 Erie Street in Collingwood twice a week. You will facilitate the continuity of primary health care by working collaboratively with our nurse practitioners and Interdisciplinary Health Professionals with the Georgian Bay Family Health Team.
Key Responsibilities
- An excellent communicator to provide general administrative support to our interdisciplinary health providers.
- Answering phone enquiries, booking patient appointments, managing schedules.
- Greeting patients upon arrival for appointments.
- Day-to-day office management, ordering supplies, facilitating communication to all clinic staff, etc. and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Education
- Medical Office management diploma/certificate welcomed.
- Experience with community care and/or a primary care setting preferred.
- Detail-oriented, analytical thinker who enjoys technical challenges.
- A professional telephone manner and excellent interpersonal skills.
Requirements, Skills, and Key Competencies
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and operational vehicle.
- Reflects an optimistic and positive attitude.
- Be adept at working collaboratively with members of our interprofessional team, family physicians, nurse practitioners, and other community health professionals.
- Demonstrated competency required in:
- Interpersonal engagement and team building.
- Electronic Health Records (PS Suite), knowledge and experience an asset
- Decision-making, critical thinking and conflict resolution.
- Managing competing demands and priorities within defined timelines.
- Verbal and written communication, including effective use of computer programs like Microsoft Office, PS Suite experience an asset
- A professional telephone manner and excellent interpersonal skills
- Working autonomously and being self-directed.
Compensation and Benefits
A salary range of $37,667.00 – $43,667.00 depending on experience and expertise. We offer a comprehensive health, drugs, vision and dental package and Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP). Paid vacation, personal leave, mileage allowance for travel between the clinics, and a generous professional development budget.
