Location: Angus area, Simcoe County (for call outs)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Compensation: $100,000 per year (Salary) or equivalent hourly rate based on experience
About Us
Georgian Waste Services is a family-owned and operated waste management company serving Simcoe County and the surrounding area. We provide roll-off bin services, waste haulage, recycling, and disposal solutions to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. We are currently seeking an experienced 310T Truck & Coach Technician to join our maintenance team.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Occasional Saturdays: 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM
- Company service van provided for road service calls
Position Summary
The 310T Truck & Coach Technician is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of a fleet of heavy trucks, loaders, and waste management equipment. This role involves both shop-based repairs and mobile service work using a company-provided service vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy trucks and trailers.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, air brake, suspension, steering, and engine systems.
- Maintain and repair loaders, roll-off trucks, compactors, and other waste management equipment.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures both in the shop and at customer or roadside locations.
- Complete service calls using a company-provided mobile service van.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and equipment repairs as required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection reports.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and organized shop environment.
Qualifications
- Valid 310T Truck & Coach Technician License.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience repairing heavy trucks and equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with loaders, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid Class G driver's licence
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
