Description

SBS Drivetec is a Barrie-based automotive manufacturing company and the North American site of the BURGER Group, headquartered in Germany. Their modern facility specializes in high-volume, highly automated production of automotive actuators using advanced injection molding and assembly technologies.

They are currently hiring for afternoon-shift positions at their Barrie, Ontario facility. The regular schedule is Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM. Please note that training during the first few weeks will take place Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, before transitioning to the afternoon shift.

🔧 Injection Mold Technician

Pay: $28–$31/hour

This hands-on position is responsible for setting up, operating, and optimizing injection molding machines to ensure consistent, high-quality production. Duties include mold changes, monitoring production processes, troubleshooting equipment and process issues, and performing routine maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of injection molding experience, preferably within the automotive industry
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and peripheral automated production equipment
  • Knowledge of AQMS / IATF 16949

🤖 Automation Technician

Pay: $31–$36/hour

This hands-on position works with robotics, PLCs, sensors, and electro-mechanical machinery to support reliable production. Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, performing preventative maintenance and repairs, assisting with automation projects and system upgrades, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Process, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent field
  • 5+ years of direct experience in a related field, with technical experience optimizing and operating automation equipment
  • Hands-on experience with automation systems/equipment, PLCs/HMI, robot controls, and associated programming software
