The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead underground infrastructure projects involving watermain, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer installations. This is an important leadership role responsible for day-to-day site operations, crew supervision, safety compliance, scheduling, and coordination with project stakeholders.

This position is ideal for a proven leader who takes pride in running an organized, safe, and efficient job site.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and support field crews in the installation of watermain, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems

· Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily site activities to meet project timelines and budget targets

· Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, company standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements

· Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and layouts to ensure accurate installation

· Oversee trenching, shoring, excavation, and related site operations

· Conduct daily tailgate safety meetings and enforce company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies

· Identify and resolve site issues efficiently to maintain productivity and quality

· Communicate professionally with Project Managers, inspectors, engineers, and municipal representatives

· Maintain accurate records including daily reports, material tracking, and crew productivity

· Train, mentor, and develop crew members to improve job site performance and efficiency

Qualifications Required

· Minimum 5 years of experience in underground utility construction

· Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience leading field crews

· Strong knowledge of watermain, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer installation practices

· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

· Strong understanding of Ontario construction safety requirements and safe excavation practices

· Valid driver’s licence

· Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred / Assets

· Superintendent experience on municipal infrastructure projects

· Experience operating or supervising heavy equipment such as excavators and loaders

· First Aid

· Confined Space Entry

· Working at Heights
