JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Business Development Executive will be responsible for developing new business and generating profitable revenue via direct selling to prospective and returning JAM clients.  

You will be primarily focused on selling team building events and programs (virtual, hybrid and in-person activities) and corporate sports programs such as corporate leagues, tournaments and other sports products and services for companies. In addition, you can develop the business through partnerships and sponsorships.   

Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Generating profitable revenue to meet and exceed sales targets. 
  • Outbound prospecting, lead generation, lead nurturing and deal closure. 
  • Industry, client and competitive research and insights to develop sales messaging and inform prospecting activities. 
  • Sales presentation and sales scripting development. 
  • Funnel management including reporting and forecasting. 
  • Providing an exceptional level of sales consultation and customer service. 
  • Maintaining accurate client records. 
  • Working effectively with other JAM departments as required to develop, sell and deliver programs (including sports operations, marketing and production). 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University or College degree in Business is an asset.
  • 3-5 years of sales experience is required, with demonstrated success in a B2B sales environment.
  • Ability to think quickly on your feet and work well with a team
  • Ability to adapt to change and experience working in an entrepreneurial organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous knowledge of Pipedrive or similar CRM tools
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.

EXPECTED HOURS & REMOTE WORK

  • You will be working 37.5 hours per week.
  • The majority of your time you will be working 9:00am-5:00pm EDT Monday-Friday. You may be required to work shifted hours for special events or evenings for partnerships from time to time.
  • JAM is based in Toronto and offers a flexible working environment. Your days may be remote, at client meetings or in the office. As a guideline, expect to be in the office 1-2 days / week.

COMPENSATION

  • $55,000 - $70,000 CAD annual salary with attractive commission bonus structure (typically, commission will work out to be 20-50% of your salary annually based on sales performance, and there is no commission maximum)
  • 10 Vacation Days and 10 Personal Days to start
  • Eligible for full benefits after 3 months
  • Complimentary league play
  • GO PLAY Days throughout summer months (That’s our version of “summer hours”. Account for your Friday afternoon hours elsewhere in your work week, pre-book your Go Play Day off with your team leader and go PLAY!)
